Player: GDI Difficulty: Easy-Medium Level Number: 2 Level Name: Forest Created By: Black Baron (dont@send.me.mail) Release Date: 31 January 1996 Map Information: Moderately Small (40x23), Temperate Forest theater. Used Andrew Griffins CHEMBROS level to start off. Player: GDI Difficulty: Hard (I really mean it) Filename: TBEX-GDI.ZIP File contents: scg01ea.ini infilt.map scg02ea.ini forest.map mission.ini savegame.001 savegame.002 readme.txt map-p.exe Tested on Command and Conquer v1.18 (English version) Level replacement ----------------- These levels replace the first two GDI levels. (They dont really belong there, but it's easier for me to start them) Mission Description ------------------- Level 1 ------- The Brotherhood has reportedly been conducting Tiberium tests on live subjects. Their base is approximately 23 miles inside their territory. Your team has been deployed ahead of the main force to minimize the risk of detection. You must neutralize the base defenses to allow the troops to arrive safely. In order to prevent the base from receiving reinforcements, the transports are set to arrive in seven minutes. Level 2 ------- It seems the last attack on the NOD research base was not totally successful in halting the Tiberium experiments. The Brotherhood has built another facility and kidnapped Dr. Moebius to speed their research. Clear the LZ north of your position and wait for the transports. Afterwards, rescue Dr. Moebius and destroy the research facility. It is advisable that you complete your objective quickly, as reinforcements for the base are scheduled sometime soon. Level Description ----------------- Level 1 ------- It's a pretty straight-forward level. Just make sure you dont walk in the front door. Also, keep in mind that you have seven minutes to destroy the SAMs and disable the advanced guard towers. Level 2 ------- This level is hard. Don't take too long because in about 15 minutes, a lot of armored units will land, and you'll have a big mess on your hands. Keep some infantry around the chopper because NOD troops will try to investigate the landing site. If either the transport or Dr. Moebius is killed, don't bother trying to continue the mission. Also, don't march infantry alone through the forest - you'll get nowhere fast. Usage ----- For those who don't want to bother messing around editing files, two savegames have been supplied that were taken the instant the level started. Simply copy these files (savegame.???) into your Command and Conquer directory (rename it if you don't want to lose one of your savegames). Then load that file when you start. You will not be able to restart the mission if you do this, you will have to re-load it if you need to try again. If you choose this method, you can ignore the next part. If you want something more complete, you need to have the GDI version of the general.mix file on your hard drive. You also need the program map-p.exe (available in the distribution of cc-scen; you can get this distribution from http://adam.com.au/~buggy amongst other places. I have also included it here for your convenience). Put the files scg01ea.ini and scg02ea.ini into your Command and Conquer directory. Now you need to patch the general.mix file with the Infilt.map and Forest.map. Depending on which version of map-p you have, you can do this in two ways. The latest release allows you to simply type in an offset in the command line (this version is included). You can patch the file with the commands: map-p general.mix infilt.map 3349433 (scg01ea) map-p general.mix forest.map 3336857 (scg02ea) If you have the older version of map-p, use the command map-p general.mix infilt.map and when asked for the offset, type in 0x331bb9 and press Enter. map-p general.mix forest.map and when asked for the offset, type in 0x32ea99 and press Enter. You will now be able to use the scenarios when you start a new GDI campaign. If you are just using the savegame method and aren't patching the general.mix file, do not put the scg01ea.ini and scg02ea.ini files into your Command and Conquer directory. It may cause Command and Conquer to crash when you play the first two GDI missions.
